Back and Buff

I do so want to be a good blogger but when I do find the time to get online I invariably find myself caught up browsing around the jungle that is the world wide web. From all the weird and wonderful knitting patterns on Ravelry, wool bargains on Ebay, books to purchase for bedtime reading on Amazon, info on up-coming movies on I.M.D.B, celeb shenanigans on Digital Spy and then my all time favourite Wikipedia for everything you need to know about anything else.

There are however bloggers out there who lead far busier lives than me and make much regular and very interesting posts so I have no viable excuse..alas.

So what have I been up to? First and fore mostly trying to get healthy, or that should really read 'trying to retain good health'. In the first part of this year I was plagued by chest infection and colds which damn near knocked me for six. I'm determined its not happening again.

I take regular vitamins and eat well, getting my weight up to an acceptable level of 43kg(though I am perhaps beginning to wonder why I need 3 chins when one seemed perfectly adequate, haha). My G.P referred me to a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Class, which is physio for folks with with, in lay mans terms 'crappy lungs'. For those who don't know I have severe scoliosis which means my spine puts pressure on and restricts my lung function. The class is going really well and has increased not only my physical well being but my confidence and motivation.

A big boost was yesterdays session where I walked a mile on the treadmill. Granted, it took 36 minutes so theres no Olympians shaking in their plimsolls just yet! However, I don't think I've ever walked that long before without stopping so I'm patting myself on the back big stylee!!

Some sad news however, is that of Loving Hands founder (my knitting group) Lou Jaap. Lou had a fall and hit her face which resulted in complications. She has had to have her left eye and part of her cheek removed and is still on a ventilator fighting for her life. My thoughts are with her and her family.

Glad to hear things are going well for you; such sad news about your friend though - sending good thoughts her way
